We are very happy to announce that we will be starting up with scheduling drives once again. The Illinois Secretary of State has changed a few requirements that everyone will be required to follow. Below we will list all the new requirements and how the drives will be scheduled.
- All drives have been updated from 1-hour sessions, now to 1.5 hours, there will be a total of 4 drives to schedule. this will be the student and the instructor. Since there’s no observation time, and the student is alone with the instructor, the Secretary of State requires a parent or guardian to sign a consent form. Everyone will be required to wear a face mask during the drive. Students will need to bring a face mask with them to each drive. All students will be required to have their permit in hand as always and the signed consent form. Students showing up without the three items will be canceled from the appointment and be charged a no show fee.
2. Everyone will need to log into the student portal and make sure there are no restrictions on their account for scheduling appointments. If you have never scheduled a drive, log into the portal because everyone is required to place the student’s permit information such as DL#(permit number), issue date, expiration date, & FAC number. Without this information, you will not be able to schedule drives. We are releasing the drives on the 3rd Wednesday of each month at 6:00 pm. This is the best time to get your drives because the is when they are released. Remember you can log into the account anywhere and on any device which means your cell phone, making it easy and convenient.
3. We are working very hard by offering the same amount of time slots that we would normally offer. This is with about half of our instructors not coming back to work yet due to not wanting to be exposed to the COVID 19 Virus because this is a new Phase opening. We are hoping to have everyone back to work by the end of June or July.
